2007 Hidden Gardens Tour Meeting

We are having a 2007 Hidden Gardens Tour Meeting next TUESDAY, May 1st at 7 PM in the Allentown Public Library. Please join us – there’s much to do! We will have posters to distribute advertising our tour! How are your ticket sales going?

Pleasant Run Spring Plant Sale - Saturday, May 5th - 9 AM – 12 sharp

Be sure you are there btw 9 and 12, we have to be done 12 sharp!

Allentown Spring Planters - Saturday, May 19th, 9 AM

We need volunteers for Saturday, May 19th, 9 AM to help plant summer annuals in our town planters. If we have 6 or so people, it will only take 45 minutes! Meet in front of Hoffman’s Bakery. Please contact Ginger Sharp  to let her know you will be there.

Field Trip to Griner’s Iris Farm - Saturday, May 19th, 10 AM

(after you’ve helped us plant the summer annuals, join us at Griner’s!)  

Bill and Martha Griner have a fabulous collection of Iris which will be in bloom and putting on a spectacular display on this date.  We will have the opportunity to view the plants in full bloom, and place orders for the variety(s) we choose.  Plants are sold at $4 per rhizome, and a $5 deposit will be required when placing your order (cash or check).  Plants will be dug in July for pick up.

Directions from Methodist Church (7 miles):

Make a Left out of church parking lot and make a Right onto Main Street.  Stay on Main as it becomes Old York Road and travel for 3 miles.  Turn Left onto Church Street (a different Church Street) and then a Right onto Ward Avenue.  Turn Left onto Hogback Road and then Left onto Bordentown-Chesterfield Road (Rt. 528).

Hidden Gardens Tour - Saturday, June 2nd, 2007 - 10 AM – 3 PM

All members are responsible for promoting our tour! So talk it up! The Garden Tour Committee is asking all members to sell up to 5 tickets. Please contact either Jennifer Elder Brady or Ginger Sharp to obtain and purchase tickets for friends and family!

Friends of Historic Arneytown are having a flowers, herbs, and shrubs sale!

May 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th - 7 AM – 7 PM

Sale proceeds to purchase markers for historic buildings and sites in Arneystown, NJ and to purchase fencing around historic Quaker cemetery!
